Puppies

I’ve been teaching puppy classes since 2019 and I’m happy to help you get through this stage of puppyhood, and those that come after.

Is your puppy biting you? Jumping on you? Barking at you or whenever they are left alone? Still peeing on the floor? Does it feel like you are walking a carnivorous roomba? Are they a little bit bonkers every evening at the same time?

Reactive Dogs

Does your dog react to certain objects, people, creatures, or vehicles by barking or lunging at them? Does your dog stare intensely or refuse to keep walking?

I can help you teach your dog to calmly look at their triggers and then look back to you. More importantly, I can help you understand why your dog is behaving the way they are, and give you the tools to navigate your environment in a way that minimizes both of your stress levels.

Fearful Dogs

Is your dog scared of something? Somewhere? Someone? Or are they scared of everything?

I can help you learn how to help your dog feel safe in their world and how to gradually counter-condition and desensitize them to their triggers so that they become confident.

Behaviour Modification for Fearful/Aggressive Dogs

Is your dog terrified of something? Or do they try to start fights with things that come too close to them?

Fear and aggression are two sides of the same conflict: one of us has to leave. Fearful dogs choose to be the one to leave. Aggressive dogs try to force the trigger to leave, often with a threat display.

We can change how your dog feels about that core conflict – we can teach them to feel safe. And once your dog feels safe, they can choose to be brave or to be curious.

Compassion

My methods are based in compassion for all species living in your household: dogs, humans, cats, etc.

I do not use force, fear, or intimidation to motivate my learners. You do not need to be dominant in order to live peacefully with your dog.

Your fearful/aggressive dog does not need to be put in their place. They need someone on their team to help them feel safe.

Step-by-Step Training Plans

I provide step-by-step instructions to help you and your dog get from your current skills/situation to your goals.

Often my clients come to me with a dream, “I want to walk my dog without them pulling me everywhere” or “I want to walk my dog without them barking at everything”, but they don’t know how to get from Point A to Point B.

That’s where I come in. I give you the road map and help you navigate.

Clear Instructions

I am a certified high school teacher and I consider myself a teacher of the subject of dogs. I want you to understand what to do, when to do it, and why you are doing it.

I take my human clients’ learning styles and preferences into account when developing my lesson plans.

Whether you are a visual learner, an auditory learner, or you learn best by doing, it is my responsibility to figure out how to convey the information to you in a way that you find accessible.

All new clients start with a 60 min Consultation for 125$ CAD
